HISTORY
Port Angeles Friends of the Library (PAFOL) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and enhancing the Port Angeles Library. Originally incorporated as the Friends of the Port Angeles Library in 1981, the organization adopted its current name in 1994 and is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. PAFOL's work is funded through used book sales, memberships, donations, and a generous bequest from longtime library supporter Douglas M. Redgrave. In 1995, the organization received a very generous donation from the Redgrave Trust to benefit the Port Angeles Library. For more than four decades, PAFOL has helped fund programs and resources that enrich the community. Support from PAFOL makes possible popular library offerings such as summer reading programs, author visits, art activities, and educational programs for children, teens, and adults. The organization also provides annual funding for books and other library materials, and has contributed to special projects, including the purchase of interactive learning boards for the children's library.
